We hope you all had a lovely half term. We have had such a busy first week back in Reception! Before the half term, we celebrated black history week by learning about Usain Bolt, Sir Mo Farah and Dame Kelly Holmes. The children were amazed at their achievements and we definitely have some inspired athletes!

The children have also learnt some new sounds – c/ck/k and e. We have been hearing lots of clicking castanets!

In maths, we have been focussing on numbers 6 and 7 and have been exploring ways that we can represent these numbers. We have also been finding out about how to compare amounts by using the vocabulary more and less.

We have started this half term with a bang… the firework creations have been fantastic! Great start Reception!
