Discovery Classroom
It's been a long wait, but it's definitely worth it.
Although the path to our final outdoor structure has taken a few twists and turns, the Discovery Classroom is officially open. The team from Dunster House picked up the pace and completed the cabin by close of play on Thursday, just in time for the Proms... and today's sudden shower.
Thank you to everyone involved in getting us to this point, the point where torrential downpours don't prevent us from using tools as part of our outdoor learning, where 40 mph gusts don't stop our creativity with sharp blades and jagged teeth.
Today 4N's Forest Schoolers tested out the new space for the first time. With improvised work benches, all sixteen students were able to develop their carpentry skills, albeit with junior hacksaws and hammers rather than bowsaws and penknives. But as proof of concept, it was a great success.
