Help for Hedgehogs
These prickly mammals are under threat: time for Forest Schoolers to find out how to help.
3R Forest Schoolers hosted the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust's Hedgehog Officers, Simon Thompson and Dr Debbie Wright, to find out more about these loveable omnivores. Using scientific language like adaptation, mammal, behaviour, noctural, omnivore and hibernaculum (that's right: hibernaculum. It's the place they hibernate in), the group enjoyed some sensory role play with a costume that you have to agree is incredibly cute (think The Gruffalo meets The Wombles). We then found the best locations for our footpath tunnel and hedgehog house. Here's hoping we get a visitor soon...
