International Women's Day
Emma Watson and Frida Kahlo
Today, we celebrated International Women's Day by studying the life and work of two inspirational women. We began by watching Emma Watson's HeforShe speech at the United Nations and we had a really interesting discussion about gender equality. The children wrote their own persuasive speeches about gender equality and challenging gender stereotypes. Then, we learnt about the life of Frida Kahlo. The children created some brilliant artwork inspired by her many self portraits. They also created cards for inspirational women in their own life.
