This week in DT, the children have been exploring our unit: Fun Fairgrounds. At the end of the unit, they will have made a moving fairground ride with a rotating element, made out of wood with a working motor in it! This week, they were set the challenge of building a structure like a Ferris Wheel which could stand independently and rotate without it being held! It was a fun challenge, and the children used wooden dowling, art straws, wool, cotton reels, card, sellotape and blutac! It was great to watch their ideas come to life!
