Augmented Reality!
Exploring the heart through technology.
In Science, Year 6 have been learning all about the function of the heart. We have learnt that the heart pumps blood around the body, but it has to collect oxygen from the lungs before going back to the heart and then travelling to the rest of the body.
We learnt that this movement is called the 'figure of eight movement'. Oxygenated blood is collected, pumped through the heart where the blood becomes deoxygenated once it has gone to the muscles and the rest of the body.
Once we learnt about this, we then explored the heart using augmented reality! We could hold the heart, place it on a flat surface and even go inside it! It was great fun, but a fantastic learning opportunity too.
