Roman Roads
Good enough to eat!
Today, we looked at the details of how the Romans built their famous roads. We learnt that they built them in layers within a large ditch, and discussed why it is important to give instructions in the correct (chronological) order. We then decided as a class what the 5 steps would be to instruct someone how to build a Roman Road.
To help us remember the different layers, we made an edible model of the Roman road, with biscuit ‘rubble’, M&M ‘stones’, chocolate spread ‘cement’ and finally malt milk ‘paving stones’.
