As part of Year 1's Frozen Planet topic, we have been learning all about the continents and identifying where the South Pole is!

The South Pole is the main area of focus in our topic but we have been applying out geographical skills to the entire globe, looking at continents and different animals that live at polar opposites (pardon the pun!)

The best way we have found to learn the continents is through song! Just ask your child about the continents song and you will have the names down in no time! (Side effects include repetitive singing of a catchy but educational tune).
