World Book Day!
A wonderful celebration of reading!
Year 2 had lots of fun this week celebrating World Book Day. Our day was spent devouring and having a little taster of some new books in our Book Tasting session, noting down our opinion on them and collecting any new 'delicious' vocabulary we read along the way. It was a great way to find our own reading taste and add to our book wish list! We can't wait to go to the library next week to take them home!
As well as this, we took part in a costume parade to show off our amazing costumes, spotting other book characters around the room. We also had a go at drawing one of our favourite author, Alex T. Smith's, illustrations, and we took part in a book quiz! We were also excited and very lucky to hear three different stories at the end of the day, read by three different adults around school! We couldn't wait to see who was going to appear next! It was a great day!
Well done to all who took part in the Book In a Box competition - they were all absolutely amazing, and we loved looking at them all! A special mention to Florie Hughes who was the winner for Year 1/2 with her wonderful Superworm box!
