Stories, CVCs and Estimating
Once again, we have had a busy week at Paddox. Your children have enjoyed this week's traditional tale of Goldilocks and the three bears. We have had some fantastic discussions about how Goldilocks felt when she woke up, confronted by the three bears. We have also discussed how it must have felt to be poor baby bear who returned home faced with no porridge, a broken chair and a stolen bed! Also, we hope you have all enjoyed reading about Bumblebear and his time at Bee School.
In Numeracy this week we have been estimating, a challenge which was tackled head on by all. Reception have really demonstrated their ability to count a range of objects when checking their estimates and have shown great use of crossing off pictures they have counted, in order to avoid simple mistakes.
In Literacy and Phonics your children have been practicing putting their phonemes to use by spelling simple CVC words such as: cat, pin, hat, map, tin and rat. See if you can get them to have a go at home! The phonemes we have learnt so far are : s a t p i n c/k e h r m d g o.
If you have given us your email address you can now email 'inbox@2buildaprofile.com' with your childs magic moments that will contribute towards their learning profile online.
