Year 3 have been settling into life in KS2 very well and adapting to being in the new Portakabin.

For our Brilliant Britain topic we've been looking at places that we have heard of in the UK and sharing what we know about them. We've also been looking at the work of the British author Julia Donaldson. We retold the story of "The Gruffalo" in our own words and wrote a letter from the Mouse demanding an apology for the Gruffalo's actions!

Perhaps the highlight of the week so far has been our first swimming lesson at Rugby School. The instructors watched everyone swim one width, wearing armbands if they wanted to. The more confident swimmers were then taken down the deep end with an instructor and a lifeguard to work on their technique, while the less confident remained in the shallow end wearing armbands. There were a few children who were moved to the deep end during the lesson and the aim is that everyone should be swimming unaided in the deep end before the end of the year.
