Wow, what a busy first 2 weeks the Reception children have had! We have been amazed with the children’s independence and confidence in their very first few weeks of school. We know it must be a nervous time for all but the children really have taken it in their stride and we have loved seeing lots of smiley faces coming into school every day!

The children have been painting self-portraits, performing puppet shows, baking yummy cakes in the mud kitchen; they’ve even had their first P.E, music and ICT lessons! The children have also been learning the routines of the school (they are now experts at remembering our school rules of: ready, respectful, safe) and have coped brilliantly with managing the lunch hall and getting themselves organised.

Each class have been able to finally meet their class bear, who loved reading all of their letters, and who has been joining in with our circle times based on getting to know our class and expected behaviours in school.

Well done to all of the Reception children!
