Celebrating our learning
The end of a very strange, but brilliant half term!
WOW! What a crazy half term it has been… we know that things have been tough for a lot of us but we are so proud of all of the children for how well they have adapted to a very different way of learning and have taken everything in their stride.
This term our topic has been ‘Traditional Tales’ and the children in and out of school have been carrying out their own science experiments based on different tales. They created their own version of the ‘Three Little Pigs’ houses and then used a hair dryer to test them, they tested gingerbread men in different liquids to find out what happened and even grew their own bean plants. We have loved looking after our plants and watching them grow!
This half term, we have been focussing on improving our sentence writing by using adjectives and we also had a go at writing our own instructions to make a jam sandwich. We then had a go at making a jam sandwich using our instructions that we wrote – they were delicious! In maths, we have now learnt all the numbers up to 20 and are experts and doing number hunts for every number. We have also learnt about addition using part-part whole models and can now find the number bonds to 10.
We have loved seeing everything that the children have been getting up to at home. We have noticed how much progress the children have made and we are very grateful for all the support that parents have been giving, thank you!
We hope you all have a well-deserved half term break.
