SNAILS! 5.6.15
Welcome to the first blog post from Reception! We hope you are going to enjoy hearing all about our learning and some of the things we have been up to!
After a rather rainy half term, we have now started our exciting new topic of ‘mini-beasts’. On Monday, Mrs Davies brought some snails in from her garden and we have been observing them all week. One of the first things we’ve noticed is that the snails are quite good at escaping and are really much faster than you might think! We started the week with 8 snails and are finishing with only a few less! One particularly brave snail even made it as far as Mrs Davies’s desk during lunchtime and tried hiding underneath all of her paper and files! Thankfully Oliver T in RD spotted the escaping snail and returned it to the observation tray, nearly 3 whole metres away!
We have decided to set the snails free in the outdoor garden by Mrs Le Poidevin’s office on Friday and hopefully they will enjoy their new found peace and quiet after their hectic week in Reception.
Thank you for reading and don’t forget to come back next week to find out more about the busy world of Reception at Paddox Primary!
