We have been reading "Wonder" by R. J. Palacio this half term. The children are thoroughly enjoying this book and have made some really thoughtful contributions to class discussions. As the main character (Auggie) is home-schooled, we have been writing balanced arguments to explore the pros and cons of home-schooling. The children have done really well with adopting a 'formal style' of writing; their work has been a pleasure to mark.
