Year 5 Blog
On Wednesday, when half of the school went to St George's for our Christmas Carol Service (which was awesome and got everyone in the Christmas mood!), the other half experienced what school was like for children in World War One! Mr Patel hoped it would make them appreciate him more (because the teachers were so strict), but sadly (for him) it didn't!
A massive thank you to Mrs Unwin and Mrs Huggett who looked after some of us who didn't go to Beaumanor - we had a wicked time!
We had a wicked time at Beaumanor; we got wet, worked well in groups and teams, got even more wet, enjoyed the different activities and we got wet some more!
On Thursday, 9th November we went to St George's Church to remember the fallen as part of our work on World War One.
This week we were preparing for the Remembrance Day Service at St George's Church on Thursday.
Terrific Tudors and cool children! We love aliteration in Year 5, and the children have definitely earned the moniker 'cool children' for their hard work on their Tudor projects which have ranged from visits to Guy Fawkes' house in Dunchurch, Warwick Castle and Bosworth Battlefields to models of Tudor houses and poetry about the Gunpowder plot.
It's been a busy week in Year 5 - we performed The Highwayman in assembly to Key Stage Two, ahd a visit from Rugby Youth for Chirst and then time-travelled back to the Tudors and spent a day in a Tudor School.
We love alliteration in Year 5! We've used lots of fabulous figurative language (I did it again!) in our writing in the last few weeks.

This term, our class is split in half - with half doing Food Technology and the other half working on their ICE (Independent, Creative and Engaging) projects. After half-term, we'll swap and do the other lesson!
