Year 5 Blog
This week we have been learning about the Anglo-Saxons, their culture and their tradition.
We've taken inspiration from the book - Shackleton's Journey - and looked to raise money like he did when he was planning his expedition to Antarctica.
We got to play a game in the ICT suite as we continue to learn about the Arctic and Antarctica.
We like making a mess in Year 5 - in our classrooms, in our bedrooms, outside in Outdoor Science when we put Mentos in Diet Coke and at home in the bath!
I know what you're thinking - Louis Sachar looks like a child in Year 5 - who knew?!
We know we have a few cheeky monkeys in Year 5, but didn't realise that we also had a White-Fronted Parrot in our year group!
In a galaxy far far away we were lucky to go into the Science Dome which transported us into the Solar System, where we looked at the different planets, stars, constellations and The Milky Way (not the chocolate!).
We're incredibly lucky to have such talented children in Year 5 some perform in shows, some are talented at sports and we have some fantastic musicians.
Our classroom got turned into a classroom during World War One - we sat in rows, Mr Patel was near the heater (and to make it more authentic he opened the windows at the back so all the children were cold!) and we wrote using chalk.
