Terrific Tudors
Terrific Tudors and cool children! We love aliteration in Year 5, and the children have definitely earned the moniker 'cool children' for their hard work on their Tudor projects which have ranged from visits to Guy Fawkes' house in Dunchurch, Warwick Castle and Bosworth Battlefields to models of Tudor houses and poetry about the Gunpowder plot.
This week we learned about Henry VIII and his wives and the legacy left by famous Tudor explorers like Sir Francis Drake and Sir Walter Raleigh. If it wasn't for them we might not have chocolate or chips and crisps made from the potato which they bought back from their expeditions - we're very grateful for all their efforts in exploring unknown land. They definitely deserve their knighthood just like Mr Patel definitely deserves one too!
