The Governing Body of our school helps to ensure the highest quality of education provision and to act as the accountable body for the school. We do this by setting the strategic vision and the ethos of the school, together with monitoring and challenging the school’s performance and acting as a supportive but ‘critical friend’ to the Headteacher.

Members of the Governing Body include members of staff, parents, a representative from the Local Education Authority and other local volunteers; all of whom have the sole aim of seeing the children at the school receive the very best education possible. Our parent and community governors have a range of different backgrounds and experience and bring many beneficial perspectives to the life of the school.

I’m Luke, Chair of Governors at Paddox Primary School. As a Parent Governor I have a child in year two (and one more to start reception soon) so I am 100% committed to helping the school be the very best it can be and it is something I am really passionate about. After being a governor for a year, I stepped into the Chair role alongside the new Headteacher starting with us and it’s been brilliant to see the positive change already and working with her to achieve her vision.

Outside of my personal desire to support the school, I have also worked in schools my entire professional life. From educational content, staff appraisal and performance management, Central Records Management and Special Educational Needs, through to my current role where I head the growth department for the UKs largest Digital Safeguarding provider. This gives me a wide understanding of school life, alongside a deep understanding of the commercial/business drivers that schools face.

I have a wide professional network I’m always happy to leverage to benefit the school and I am passionate about Safeguarding, holding level 3 DSL training via NADSL. My wife is also a teacher at a school in Rugby, so I understand from a personal, professional and parental perspective how schools operate.

I am always happy to help wherever I can so please reach out if I can be of assistance and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve!

I am the Headteacher at Paddox primary School and joined the team in September 2024. This is my 3rd headship and have previously led a school in Northamptonshire where we went from Requires improvement to good in 5 months and then spent 5 years at a school in Leamington Spa where we took it from inadequate to Good over this time, which also included the covid pandemic!

I have worked in education for 25 years now, starting a class teacher, then moving to year group leader, phase leader, assistant head, deputy head and finally head teacher. I spent a large chunk of my teaching career in Year 6 and also supporting children with SEND. In my previous Headship I led a school with high levels of SEND and also led a Trust wide working party for SEND development. My passion is ensuring all children get the very best experiences at school, that they feel they are part of a community, can have fun as they learn and develop into well rounded individuals ready for the big wide world. Developing a love of learning, being curious about the world around them and seeing education as a journey of gaining knowledge is something I want to embed at Paddox.

My name is Alison Harrison and I have been a Community Governor at Paddox Primary School since December 2016.   I am Vice Chair and Chair of the Standards Committee.  My background is in Education and I have been a teacher for over 11 years.  Many years ago, I completed a teaching practice at Paddox and since then I have seen the school has expand and change in many ways.     I have two children at Paddox and during my time as a parent, I have volunteered in many ways including classroom reading and school trips.    My areas of responsibility are Early Years and Curriculum. I believe we have a responsibility to ensure all young people have access to the best possible start in life through a good education and social activities, where each child is encouraged to fulfil their full potential.  I am very proud of the school’s dedication, hard work and reputation as well as its Ofsted report and as a governor I have always tried to offer commitment and enthusiasm to ensure the school continues to develop within its ethos of a caring community where every child matters and is valued for their individuality.

My name is Emily Chapman and I have been a Governor at Paddox Primary School since September 2023. My background is in Education and I have been a teacher for eight years. I worked in a large three form entry school (very similar to Paddox) in Coventry for five years and I am currently at a one form entry school in Solihull. I am passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive school environment where everyone feels valued. As a governor, I can bring valuable insights into strategic decisions that directly impact teaching, learning, and student outcomes. I look forward to contributing to the success and sustainability of Paddox, ensuring that it meets the needs of its students and community while preparing for future challenges and opportunities.

My name is Kathy Doughty and I have been a Governor since September 2025 as part of the Standards Sub Committee. I currently have two children who attend Paddox Primary and will have another joining in a few years. I also help support FOPS when possible. I became a governor as I wanted to work closer with the school community and help support the great work it does for our children. I have been very impressed with the school not only because of the high standards it achieves but also everything that it has to offer its pupils. My career is in data analysis in the FMCG market providing reports for household brands across the UK. I enjoy working alongside the school ensuring it continues to provide the supportive & inclusive environment for its pupils as they develop into the best versions of themselves.

My name is Simon Henry, and I am a parent of two children who attended Paddox Primary between 2016 and 2026. I live in Rugby and work in Leamington Spa as Finance & Operations Director for a mobile game developer. In my spare time, I play in a rock band and enjoy taking my children camping. We are all Nottingham Forest supporters and go to matches whenever we can.

I initially joined the Board of Governors as a parent governor and was appointed as a Co-opted Governor last year. More recently, I was appointed Chair of the Resources Committee, which oversees the school’s financial affairs as well as staffing, health and safety, and the maintenance of its buildings.

I am hugely indebted to Paddox Primary School for the excellent education it provided to my children, and I want to play whatever part I can in supporting the school and helping it provide the same opportunities for the next generation.

I became a Parent Governor at Paddox Primary School in April 2021 and transitioned to a Co-Opted Governor in July 2025.

Before joining the Governing Board, I was involved in the school community through FOPS, the Parent Council and the Parent Traffic and Road Safety sub-committee. My interest in becoming a Governor grew from this involvement, as I wanted to continue supporting the school and contribute to its future direction while helping ensure it achieves its strategic objectives.

I feel passionately that every child should have the opportunity to receive a great education, regardless of their socio-economic background. As someone who received free school meals for part of my childhood, I understand the important role a school can play in supporting children and providing opportunities and enrichment beyond the classroom. I wish for the children at Paddox to feel supported, encouraged and happy in their school environment, enabling them to flourish and achieve their individual best.

In my professional career I have worked with and consulted for commercial organisations across Europe and the Middle East. My experience includes sales, process improvement, cultural change and developing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategies.

I am an effective communicator who is naturally curious and not afraid to ask questions. I enjoy working collaboratively with the Board of Governors to help ensure the school continues to provide the best possible environment for its pupils to learn and grow.

I have been a Community Governor for a year. Previously, whilst my children were at Paddox, I was a parent governor for seven years. As well as bringing a parent’s opinion to the governors, I also bring skills from my working career. I am a Chartered Statistician and a trained mathematics teacher. I’m currently a lecturer at the University of Northampton, teaching and supporting students in mathematics and statistics. I love seeing students who were finding maths and statistics difficult improve and feel more confident in their work. As a governor, I am the assessment and maths lead. I see teachers in these areas during the year, monitoring what the school does for the governing body. When I decided to apply to be a governor, I worked at Ofqual, the exams regulator. It was there that I saw first-hand the impact that schools had on the pupils’ school life. I realised that if I wanted to question how the children’s school life could be improved, the best way to do it was to join the governing body. I have two children who have both been through Paddox, and I am committed to continuing to help support the school to be the strongest it can be.

My name is Tony Meeson and I have been a Local Authority Governor at Paddox School since 2018.  I serve on the Resources Sub Committee and I also have oversight of ICT.   I was born in Norfolk but we moved as a family to Leeds, Bradford and Preston where I completed my secondary education. I was commissioned into the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment and served for 6yrs before going to Birmingham University to study history and politics. I then joined Warwickshire Constabulary and was posted to Rugby in 1982. The first part of my police service was as a reactive officer and then as a community beat officer covering Paddox and Hillmorton, a role I thoroughly enjoyed for many years. I then worked in the prisoner interview team. Finally, I worked in child abuse and domestic violence departments before retiring in 2010. I am married to Petra who until recently was a medical librarian at St Cross and then Walsgrave hospital. We moved to Fisher Avenue in 1990 and we have very much enjoyed being part of the Paddox community. Our daughters Kit and Sophie both went to Paddox School when Mrs Roberts was head and had a very happy time at school.  I was actively involved with Friends of Paddox, chairing it for a few years.  Petra was also the Clerk to the Governors and then a Governor.  I decided to apply to be a Governor at Paddox School as I wanted to remain involved in the Paddox Community and as a way of supporting the school that gave our daughters a good start in education but also a lot of happiness.  I’m deeply committed to the school and have been very impressed with the current high standards to which Paddox School’s staff aspire and achieve.

I became a Parent Governor at Paddox Primary School in 2024 and have had children attending the school since 2018.
I am the Director of an independent specialist school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). Through my role, I have extensive experience in SEND provision, inclusion and safeguarding.
As the school’s SEND Governor and a member of the Resources Committee, I support the school in ensuring all pupils receive the best possible opportunities to succeed, while also contributing to oversight of finance, staffing and school resources.
Paddox Primary School has been an important part of my family’s journey, and I am proud to support the school in providing a high-quality education for all children.
In my spare time, I enjoy travelling with my family, cooking and drawing. We also love spending time together playing board games and making lasting memories.

I am a Co-Opted Governor and a member of the Resources Committee.

I have been a fully qualified driving Instructor since 2010 in Rugby. During the week you will see me in my instructor car providing tuition to pupils helping them learn safe driving for life.

Prior to this (for 15 years) I was head of market research at a London development agency, dealing with multi-million pound regeneration projects. I still carry out this research role on a consultancy basis.

I believe in achieving high standards in education practice and giving children a safe and caring learning environment.

I am married to Helen and have two children, one of whom is currently attending Paddox and one who left Paddox in 2026, off to secondary school!

My hobbies and interests include most sports, in particular football, rugby and golf.
